  • Stringent discharge norms in BHUTAN to surface water for Ammonium (<10ppm) compared to the conventional norm of <50ppm in India ( this is mainly to protect the fragile environment of Bhutan).

  • Metcon engineers came up with an innovative solution where-in the system used the principal of Anoxic system to convert Ammonia to Nitrogen.
  • Solution outline: Primary clarifier > UASB > Aeration > Anoxic system > Aeration > Sec Clarifier > Tertiary treatment.
